Many facets of mathematics depend on our ability to solve equations, if not in clear exact ways, then at least in establishing the existence of solutions. This necessitates a working knowledge of so-called "analysis," which is basically Calculus in a broad sense.

The characteristic properties of the real number system, the mathematical principle of limits and continuity, higher-order derivatives, curve sketching, differentials, definite and indefinite integrals (areas and volumes), and applications of derivatives and integrals are all topics covered in this module.
