This module introduces students to the analysis of French language. Grammar enables students to understand the rules governing the structure of language while linguistics is the scientific study of language. This module deals with the basic elements of French grammar and the introduction to linguistic schools and sub fields of linguistics: phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, and discourse analysis.
