The
material has been developed to suit undergraduate students in Entrepreneurship and Cooperative Management options at the University of Technology and Arts of
Byumba (UTAB). The approach used is highlighting the key areas of management in
private and public enterprises. When learners successfully complete this course, they will surely be in a better position to manage different sections in private and
public organizations. The course guide briefly gives to learners an idea of what the
course is about, what course materials they will be using and how they can
utilize these materials. It suggests some activities at the end of each chapter.
The course aims at giving to learners a thorough understanding of the theory and practice of strategic management and business policy. It concentrates on the role and responsibilities of general management and focuses on the structures and processes through which these responsibilities are discharged.
