The module entitled “Introduction to English Grammar and Linguistics”, administered by the Faculty of EDUCATION, is deigned for students of Level I, Options of English-French, English-Kinyarwanda and English-Kiswahili. This module introduces students to the analysis of English language. Grammar enables students to understand the rules governing the structure of language while linguistics is the scientific study of language. This module deals with the basic elements of English grammar and the introduction to linguistics and sub fields of linguistics: phonetics, phonology and morphology.
