Dear Students,
Welcome to our course on Comparative Education. This module invites you to explore how history, culture, politics, and economics shape education systems worldwide. By comparing different contexts, we will gain insights into both the strengths and challenges of global education practices and reflect on how these lessons can inform our own Rwandan context and Africa at large.

Course Objectives

By the end of this module, you should be able to:
Define and explain key concepts in comparative education.
Analyze similarities and differences between education systems.
Critically evaluate reforms and innovations in global education.
Apply comparative perspectives to challenges in Rwanda and Africa.

Approach

We will combine lectures, discussions, case studies, and reflective tasks. Your active participation will be essential, as comparative education thrives on dialogue and diverse perspectives.

This course is not only about learning facts but also about broadening your vision of education. I encourage you to engage with curiosity, question assumptions, and connect global insights to your personal and professional journey as future educators.
I wish you success!
