Energy Storage Technologies explores the principles, materials, systems, and applications that enable the storage and efficient use of energy in modern power systems. The course examines electrochemical storage such as batteries and supercapacitors, mechanical storage systems, thermal storage, and emerging hydrogen technologies. Emphasis is placed on performance characteristics, efficiency, safety, sustainability, and integration with renewable energy sources. Students will analyze real-world applications including electric vehicles, smart grids, and microgrids. The course combines theoretical foundations with practical case studies to prepare students for challenges in sustainable energy systems.
